Looking outward toward the adjacent ravine, the renovated and newly constructed spaces of the gateway public school are integrated into the landscape. Classrooms and lunchrooms enjoy views of the picturesque surroundings, and the newly located library doubles as a public gathering place.

Many of the students who attend the school live in the surrounding apartment buildings, with very little green space, so the school grounds provide their only daily opportunity to interact with the natural environment.
