Located at 892 The Queensway, on a corner house lot, this six-storey building demonstrates the expressive possibilities of Toronto’s mid‐rise guidelines. 18 lofts are created within the zoning envelope, ranging from 523 SF one-bedroom to 1075 SF two-bedroom plus den. A dark zinc sheath, wraps around the building, creating dynamic urban corner and accenting the sloped zinc back facade, the shape of which is derived from the mid‐rise guidelines
A small retail space is provided at grade, animating the street with activity, and complementing the commercial character of the Queensway. The project demonstrates how our streets can be intensified appropriately, with fine grained increments of space.
