We have the honour of receiving an Innovation in LEED Award for Sherbourne Common Pavilion. The award was given out at the 4th Annual Legacy Gala by the Greater Toronto Chapter of the Canadian Green Building Council.
The project won in the 'New Construction/Core and Shell' category - the jury considered this project unorthodox in this category, but standing out above the rest as a tool to educate the public realm about the waterfront's connection to the history of Lake Ontario.
Note: To be clear, this project was nominated for the award by Waterfront Toronto. Although Steve was involved on the jury panel, his comments were withdrawn from the evaluation and were not considered this project.
We have had the honour of receiving two awards this week for the Robert C. Gillett Student Commons at Algonquin College: an Ottawa Urban Design Award, and Canadian Design-Build Institute (CDBI) Awards of Excellence. Congratulations to the entire Project Team for such a great accomplishment!
The Student Commons was given an Ottawa Urban Design Award of Merit in the new "Campus Infill" category - a category added because this project was considered unique enough, not falling within any of the established categories. Nine other wards were given out.
The Student Commons was selected as one out of two projects awarded a CDBI Awards of Excellence. We are extremely proud to have our project recognized as an example of an outstanding design-build projects undertaken in the Canadian construction industry.
We have had the honour of receiving two Toronto Urban Design Awards of Merit: one for Linea Townhomes, with Symmetry Developments and the other for Sherbourne Common with PFS Studio. Congratulations to all the winners this year.
